What: A three-part FREE series, entitled "Colonial Recipes - Modern Methods" will be presented at the Calphalon store located at Kittery Premium Outlets (4) in Kittery, Maine.
Colonial dishes can be both tasty and nutritious, but it can be difficult to translate some of the terminology and measurements from old recipes using modern ingredients, measurements and cooking equipment. Calphalon and the York Museum’s Education Program will show you how easy and tasty it can be to bring back these old favorites.
Using Calphalon’s state of the art cookware and a historical interpreter channeling an 18th Century lady, attendees will learn how to make original 18th Century New England Recipes such as Gingerbread, Bread Pudding, Indian Slapjacks and Corn Bread by converting measurements used in colonial days and replacing some traditional ingredients with modern substitutes. Attendees are welcome to sample all recipes and the event is free and open to the public.
Calphalon is a specialty retailer of professional cookware.
