The state of Maine has approximately thirty 18 hole golf courses and numerous 9 hole courses, with many offering some of the most scenic fairways in the U.S. Views of the state's rugged mountains, peaceful lakes and rocky Atlantic coastline entice golfers from all over the country. A very challenging course designed by world reknown Robert Trent Jones is located in the Western Mountains and Lakes region, while an oceanside course known as the "Pebble Beach of the East" resides at one of Maine's popular coastal resorts. Miniature golf courses can also be found throughout the state and are always great fun for the kids or the entire family!
