CHF Carriage Company to Offer Tours and Wedding Services

CHF Carriage Tours has begun a tour of the historic part of Naples on the Causeway by horse drawn carriage. The white vis-a-vis reminds visitors of the carriages in Central Park. The construction of this vis-a-vis is based on a carriage that was used for weddings and special occassions in Europe through the 1800's. It is a wonderful way to enjoy the town while watching the sites go by slowly, giving patrons time for reflection, and listening to the clip clop of shod hooves on the roadway.

Local businesses are excited about the "back in time" feel the carriage gives to the area, that boasts one of only three working locks left in North America, a traditional church maintained for the use of weddings on the lake, and the Songo River Queen, an authentic Mississippi River Stern Paddle Boat Replica. Rick's cafe was once a casino located on the route for logs to flow through lakes, rivers and canals to be exported from the bays of Portland. The wedding carriage is the perfect addition to the historic tourist area.

Tours are available Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings from 6 p.m and from May (beginning with the Blue's Festival) through September. The carriage will be available by appointment any other day of the week except Mondays (with the exception of holidays) by appointment. Regular tours are $25 for up to four people, a 40 minute tour is available for $60 for up to four people and weddings and other special events start at $150 and go up depending on time and special decorations needed for the event. The horses will only be worked if the weather is below 90 degrees and the weather is not inclement. To find out if the carriage will be available or to make an appointment please call Tiffany at 207-615-1164.
